Does the SOS make a noise or flash?
No. The alert is silent by default. Nothing on your screen changes and there's no sound — so an attacker won't know help is on the way.
Can I use it without giving away my location all day?
Yes. Location sharing is off by default. You turn it on for the walk, the ride or the evening you want covered, and it turns itself off when you're done.
Will police be called automatically?
No. ProtectSmartly notifies the trusted contacts you chose. In many countries, an automatic call to emergency services can lead to fines for false alerts, so we leave that decision with you and the people you trust.
Is it really free?
Yes. The free plan includes SOS, live sharing and check-ins. Premium ($1.99/month) removes monthly caps and adds longer location history.
